Meet the talent:
Pedro Night - Pedro night is the chief executive officer of Adobo DMV. A Nicaraguan by way of Montgomery County, Maryland, he is a veteran in the DC music + nightlife industry having served the area in several different capacities. Apart from assuming the day-to-day tasks of Adobo, he has worked as an artist manager, marketing consultant, and music history teacher over a twelve-year career. As one of the premier DJs in the area, he has performed at Miami’s Art Basel Festival, New York Fashion Week, and at many of the top venues in the DC-metropolitan region including the Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian, Echostage, Audi Field and the Capital One Arena. He has also been featured on the radio, through El Zol 107.9 in dc, and KPFK 90.7 in California. Pedro’s main goal is to utilize music to support & unite Black + Indigenous communities throughout the Americas, the Caribbean, Africa, and the DMV area.
Orquesta Manplesa - At the intersection of tradition and youth, just past Mount Pleasant Street, lies Orquesta Manplesa. Named after the Spanish pronunciation of Mount Pleasant, this 10-piece salsa band focuses on keeping the musical tradition of Latinos in DC, especially in this historical neighborhood. The salsa band is one of the busiest in the DMV area, balancing residencies at local bars with appearances at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, Salsa Meets Go-Go at Pearl Street Warehouse, and Adobo DMV at Plaza Stage. Orquesta Manplesa puts into music what it means to be from DC – community and joy above all else.
