Salsa vs. Go-Go

Sat Oct 17, 2026 9:00 PM - 1:00 AM Transmission, DC, 20002

Clave meets pocket – DC's two most infectious grooves are throwing down! On Saturday, October 17, Orquesta Manplesa's salsa dura faces off against The Honest Politix's next-generation go-go for one night only at Transmission DC.

The series dates back to February 2025, when Manplesa and Too Much Talent Band packed Pearl Street Warehouse for the first installment, proving DC's Latin and go-go scenes could share a dance floor.

Orquesta Manplesa is an 11-piece salsa band rooted in Mount Pleasant, one of the busiest bands in the DMV – from the Smithsonian Folklife Festival to Jazz in the Garden at the National Gallery of Art.

The Honest Politix was born in front of the White House during a 185-night musical protest. Led by Yaddiya of the Long Live GoGo Foundation, the band is carrying go-go's next evolution to stages from DC to Miami Art Basel.
