A little magic. A little mischief. A few stories that might follow you home.

Join Ottawa StoryTellers as we kick off our 2026–2027 Signature Series with a haunting evening at historic Billings Estate. Don your witch and warlock finery and follow our storytellers through the grounds, pausing for eerie tales along the way. Then settle into a seat around the fire for more spine-tingling stories and celebrate the season with cider.

What to expect

The evening includes approximately 15 minutes of walking, with several stops for storytelling, followed by approximately 30 minutes of seated stories around the fire. The walking route is no more than approximately 1.2 kilometres. You’ll remain on your feet during the walk and its storytelling stops; seats will be provided for the fireside portion.

Prefer to skip the walk?

The walk is entirely optional. You’re welcome to proceed directly to the storytelling area and wait for the group to return. You’ll miss the stories shared along the walking route, approximately 15 minutes of the event—and then join everyone for the seated fireside stories and cider.

We’re exploring an indoor space where guests can wait until the walk concludes. This is not yet confirmed; we’ll share an update once arrangements are finalized.

What to bring

• Warm clothing and layers for an outdoor October evening.
• Comfortable footwear suitable for walking outdoors.
• A flashlight.
• Your favourite Halloween costume, encouraged, but optional!

Seats will be provided, so there’s no need to bring a lawn chair.
