Our Little Bake Sale

We are SO excited to partner with Cake Zine and Little Island to raise funds for Make The Road NY -- an incredible Queens-based organization that builds the power of working class and immigrant communities to achieve dignity and justice.

WHEN: Sunday, September 6th, 2026 from 3pm to 5pm

WHERE: The Play Ground at Little Island NYC, Pier 55, Hudson River Park (at 14th St)

WHAT: One $10 ticket = one pastry of your choice onsite, so the number of tickets you purchase equals the number of pastries you can scoop up onsite! For example, $50 = 5 tickets = 5 pastries at the bake sale. Entry is free and open to everyone, but the pastries are our thank you for donating... all proceeds from the bake sale go directly to Make The Road NY.

WHERE IS THE BAKE SALE?

Our Little Bake Sale will be held at The Play Ground on Little Island at Hudson River Park in Chelsea, NYC.

WHEN SHOULD I COME? 

3-5pm, Sunday, September 6!

I WANT [THIS PASTRY] FROM [THIS CHEF], HOW CAN I BE SURE TO GET IT?

We can’t guarantee that your favorite chef will still have treats if you come on the later side, so we recommend that you show up early so you have the full choice of offerings! 

DO I NEED A TICKET TO ENTER?

The bake sale is free to all, no admission ticket required! 

THEN WHAT IS THE TICKET FOR? 

Our bake sale “tickets” are actually donations of $10 to Make the Road NY. They’re also equivalent to one treat at the bake sale. 

SO HOW DO I GET PASTRIES? 

Upon arrival, you’ll check in at our ticket station to purchase any number of $10 donation tickets. At the bake sale, you’ll be able to exchange one ticket for any treat of your choosing, directly with the chef at their table.  1 ticket = 1 treat. 2 tickets = 2 treats. 3 tickets = 3 treats!

I BOUGHT MY TICKETS IN ADVANCE. HOW DO I GET THOSE? 

You’ll hop into a special line and check in with someone at the entrance to the bake sale. You’ll pick up your tickets and then be able to wander the bake sale freely! 

DO I NEED TO BRING A BOX/TUPPERWARE/BAG?

Nope! We’ll provide our special custom bake sale boxes for you to pile all your goodies in! 

CAN I EAT MY TREATS THERE?

Yes! There’s plenty of seating at The Play Ground, or you can take your treats to other parts of Little Island while you explore all the park has to offer. 

WHO IS AT THE BAKE SALE?

We have 25 phenomenal chefs from some of our favorite restaurants, bakeries, and more—check out the list above for the full lineup. 

WHAT WILL BE SERVED? 

There’s something for everyone: hand-spun ice cream, custom layer cakes, chewy cookies, savory tarts, and so much more. Come explore, meet the chefs, and come see for yourself! 

WHAT IS THE BAKE SALE FOR?

All proceeds from the bake sale will be donated to our friends at Make the Road NY, a Queens-based non-profit that builds the power of immigrant and working class communities to achieve dignity and justice. Read more about their work here. 

WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING THAT DAY?

Between our friends at Cake Zine hosting a series of (also free!) readings, and a concert from NYC icon Laurie Anderson, there’s a full day and night’s worth of fun to be had. See Little Island’s calendar for the full event listings. 

CAN I BRING MY CHILD/DOG/BIKE?

The bake sale will be held at The Play Ground at Little Island, and while it is entirely outdoors it IS a park, so humans of all ages are welcome, but no dogs please! And bikes can be parked at the rack just outside the entrance. We ask that you please be mindful of crowds and lines so all can have a wonderful time!
