A 6-week community of practice for NFP workers, communicators and independent practitioners who are ready to move from learning about ethical storytelling and start doing it, together.
You know ethical storytelling matters. You have probably sat in a workshop, nodded along, felt inspired and then gone back to your organisation and wondered where to even begin.
This is not another workshop.
T.E.S.T. It Out is a 6-week Community of Practice designed for people who are ready to do the work: to audit their current practice, design better systems, and build real tools they can actually use, with expert support and a community of peers beside them the whole way.
Who This Is For?
This program is for anyone who works with Story Holders' stories and understands how harmful storytelling can be.
We believe it is all of our responsibilities to be better Story Caretakers and together with a group of people who care about story sovereignty and addressing exploitative and extractive practices, we can make changes in our spheres of influence. And if we do that while supporting one another we can make real change.
For the first CoPs we have had attendees from
- Community Arts Leaders
- Diversity and Equity Leaders
- Strategic Communications Leaders
- Ethical Researchers
- Community Development Leaders
These people come from all sectors from government, foundations, small to large NFPs, universities and business.
You do not need to have all the answers. You only need to be willing to ask better questions.
Capacity: Limited to 12 participants.
What You Will Walk Away With
Over 6 weeks you will build your own Story Caretaker Kit: a set of practical, customised resources built for your context, including:
- Consent forms designed for your community
- Resource frameworks that reflect your organisation's needs
- Co-design workflows your team can actually follow
- Templates ready to implement from day one
You will not be doing this alone. Throughout the programme you will have access to a peer support network, accountability partners, and between-session guidance as you put changes into practice.

Because Story Holders deserve more than good intentions. They deserve systems that protect their rights, honour their stories, and centre their wellbeing.
