Critical Conversations Part 1: Supporting professionals to confidently challenge misogyny and empower young people to build respectful relationships. Professionals working with young people are increasingly encountering misogynistic attitudes, behaviours and language but often lack the confidence or tools to respond effectively. This interactive training equips participants with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to understand the impact of misogyny, challenge harmful attitudes safely, and support young people to build respectful relationships. Through discussion, reflection and practical activities, participants will explore the realities facing young people today, consider their role in responding to misogyny, and leave with strategies and practical activities they can confidently apply in their own youth setting.
This training is delivered by Kelly Harris (she/her). Kelly is a qualified youth worker based in Wales with expertise in participation, children's rights, political engagement and youth governance. With 25 years experience working with young people from a variety of lived experience backgrounds in a variety of settings, her passion is rooted in educating, supporting and empowering young people to have a voice in their communities. Kelly is also an experienced trainer/facilitator to support professionals who work with children and young people on a range of topics.
