This event, delivered by Connect Futures, explores how Digital Citizenship techniques can help prevent extremism by building online citizens who are more able to recognise, question and stay resilient to harmful extremist narratives and feel confident responding safely and positively. The session will focus on a range of extremism including misogyny.
By the end of the session, participants will:
- Understand what Digital Citizenship is and the different ways it can be practised.
- Recognise how Digital Citizenship values and behaviours can directly support efforts to counter online extremism.
- Feel confident delivering introductory Digital Citizenship tools and activities with young people.
- Be able to identify signs of online extremism and know how to report concerns safely and effectively.
