ADVENTURE BY THE SEA FESTIVAL

Adventure by the Sea is a three-day celebration of Moray’s remarkable coastline - bringing together families, young people, and the wider community through adventure, learning, and connection with the sea.

We begin with this inspiring evening celebrating Moray’s coastal stories, adventure, and marine life. Expect a programme of short talks from local adventurers, conservationists, and water-sport practitioners, exploring themes of blue-space wellbeing, wildlife, and our relationship with the sea.

Roseisle Hall, Roseisle, Moray, IV30 5YF, with:-

  • Kag Gannon - A sea kayak guide, with a passion for Scotland's shores, wildlife, fauna & stories of circumnavigating the coastline.
  • Cory Jones - Adventurer and paddler with Antarctic and global inspiration from kayak and canoe expeditions.
  • Lorna Hall - Scottish Dolphin Centre on bottlenose dolphins in the Moray Firth.
  • Jane Campbell Morrison - Findhorn Watersports about local coastal use and access to the sea.

Time: 7pm to 10pm (doors open 6.45pm)
Cost
: Free, thanks to funding from the MORAY COASTAL COMMUNITUES FUND. Space limited so reserve tickets. Donations to the charitable work of Outfit Moray invited on the night.

A
 Community Weekend Celebrating Moray’s Coastline - Rooted in outdoor activity, environmental stewardship, and shared experience, the weekend invites people of all ages to explore, learn, and care for the coast that shapes our region. Other activities offered as part of the festival weekend can be booked separately including:

Sat 28th March, 10am-4pm : Rosisle Forest orienteering supported by Moravian orienteers, mountain biking on forest trails & beach / forest clean.
Sun 29th March, 10am-4pm : An immersive day of coastal exploration including Culbin Forest bushcraft, Findhorn bay canoeing & beach / forest clean.
Wed 8th April,
7.30pm-9.30pm : Buckie Fisherman's Hall, an evening of talks and films to inspire you.

Schools Programme – Coastal Learning & Outdoor Education
Alongside the community weekend, a schools-based programme will run during March, offering young people hands-on coastal learning including:

  • Water safety and coastal awareness
  • Rock pooling and coastal ecology
  • Climbing and abseiling with learning about erosion and natural processes
  • Coastal walks exploring biodiversity and local cultural history
