Stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) is an offshoot of surfing that originated in Hawaii. Unlike traditional surfing where the rider sits until a wave comes, stand up paddle boarders stand on their boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water, testing the rider's balance and co-ordination skills. We will provide all the kit needed to keep the participants warm and safe including wet suit, paddleboard, a paddle, buoyancy aid and helmet - they just need to bring a sense of adventure!   Buoyancy aids will be provided, so participants don't need to be strong swimmers, as long as they have a level of water confidence.

Date: 9th July
Time: 9:30am to 3:30pm
Meeting point: Outfit Moray (map)
Ages: 8 to 18
Cost:
£25 (subsidised through fundraising from £40)

We will provide all the necessary technical equipment - wetsuits and boots, buoyancy aids and helmets - but please make sure everyone is appropriately dressed in suitable, warm clothing, is wearing sturdy footwear and has the following with them:

  • Backpack (can be provided)
  • Packed lunch (full days only)
  • Snacks
  • Full water bottle
  • THIS IS A WET ACTIVITY - Swimwear is essential (to be worn under the wet suit )
  • Towel and change of clothes for afterwards.

PLEASE READ: This activity is heavily subsidised and requires a lot of fundraising to keep it at this price. There's many different ways you can make a difference to the lives of young people in Moray without breaking the bank; from taking part in a challenge, to using our clothing bank or signing up to our monthly lottery For more info, please visit our website (opens in a new window, so you won't lose this page).
