Oxfolk Ceilidh Panjandrum with caller Nancy Potts
It's our end-of-season ceilidh so we are going out with a bang with Panjandrum! Veterans of many a ceilidh series and festival, both in this incarnation and in previous years as part of The Committee Band. They describe themselves as a bunch of multi-instrumentalist habitual tune hunters who can't hear a good tune without thinking about how to harmonise it and lift the tune off the printed page to breathe life into it. Earworms are their speciality; eclectic melodies from all over Britain, Europe and Scandinavia as well as some self penned gems, all kicked into shape for ceilidh dances.Everyone in the band has been a dancer and/or dance teacher so they really know how to fit a good tune to a good dance. You won't be able to keep your feet still even if you're not dancing!
They are joined by caller Nancy Potts: quick-witted and with a wonderful selection of dances. Nancy uses non-gendered calls.
The wonderful Rockhopper Morris will entertain us during the interval with a slick display of dances.
Doors 7.30pm, dancing from 8 until 11pm.
There is a licensed bar with ale, cider, wine and soft drinks.
