Oxfolk Ceilidh with Jigfoot and caller Barry Goodman

Doors 7.30pm, dancing from 8 until 11pm.

We are delighted that the Hampshire band Jigfoot are joining us this month. The band approaches traditional dance tunes with energy, inventiveness and, above all, swing. They specialise in playing tunes from southern England and particularly their county. But most of all what they play is sublime to dance to. The band is: Cath Watkins and Ben Potton on fiddles, Gill Redmond on cello, Kim Sheil on melodeon and Nic Bradford on guitar.

Calling the dances is Barry Goodman, a well-known caller who has worked with many of the finest ceilidh bands in the country. He likes to make dancers feel relaxed and confident and his clear but laid-back style of teaching the dances has made him a popular choice at folk festivals and ceilidhs nationwide. Barry uses gender neutral, positional calls.

Interval entertainment is from the fantastic Molly No Mates, the drag king molly dance team from Bristol

There is a licensed bar with ale, cider, wine and soft drinks.

Saving the planet - Oxfolk is no longer serving drinks in disposable glasses so please bring along your own reusable glasses or purchase an Oxfolk one at the bar.

We don't ask for proof of concession: if you can't afford to pay the standard price, you are eligible for a concession, no questions asked

- Carer free - if you have a disability and need a personal assistant so that you can enjoy an evening at Oxfolk, we’re happy to provide you with an extra ticket for them, free of charge

Illness and Refund Policy

• If you're feeling unwell and may be suffering from a transmissible illness, please don't come and we'll refund.

Access

• If you have a disability and need a personal assistant so that you can enjoy our events, we're happy to provide you with an extra ticket for them, free of charge. You can book a carer’s ticket when you book your own.

• There is one accessible parking space adjacent to the Centre. There is level access into the Centre, with a ramp at the front. A disabled person’s toilet is available.

• Lighting is, depending on the time of day, natural light or the hall’s own lighting. We do not use flashing lights.

• There is a quieter area in the lobby, which is next to the hall but also separate from it.

• For called dances, use of non-gendered positional terms or alternative role names in calling is explained in the event description.
