Oxfolk Ceilidh with Bristol Ceilidh Quartet and caller Hannah Moore

The Bristol Ceilidh Quartet brings together three English folk fiddlers and a fab cellist to make a big string sound with loads of energy and drive. They take great tunes and create exciting arrangements exploring the dynamic range of the string quartet. This isn’t serious classical music though, all of them have spent many years playing for traditional dance; every tune is calculated to get feet tapping and people on the dance floor. They are Nonny Tabbush on fiddle, Sarah Moody on cello, Alison Rowley and Deb Chalmers both on fiddle and viola.

The charismatic caller and dancer Hannah Moore joins the band with a great selection of dances and a brilliant way of explaining them. Hannah uses gender neutral, positional calls.

There is a licensed bar with ale, cider, wine and soft drinks.

Saving the planet - Oxfolk is no longer serving drinks in disposable glasses so please bring along your own reusable glasses or purchase an Oxfolk one at the bar.

Illness and Refund Policy

• If you're feeling unwell and may be suffering from a transmissible illness, please don't come and we'll refund.

Access

• If you have a disability and need a personal assistant so that you can enjoy our events, we're happy to provide you with an extra ticket for them, free of charge. You can book a carer’s ticket when you book your own.

• There is one accessible parking space adjacent to the Centre. There is level access into the Centre, with a ramp at the front. A disabled person’s toilet is available.

• Lighting is, depending on the time of day, natural light or the hall’s own lighting. We do not use flashing lights.

• There is a quieter area in the lobby, which is next to the hall but also separate from it.

• For called dances, use of non-gendered positional terms or alternative role names in calling is explained in the event description.
