Description
Natives of East Anglia, the ever-popular Stumpy Oak present a rhythmic, frenetic performance of tunes from across the British Isles featuring an unusually large sound from a line-up of fiery fiddles, accordion, flute, guitar and stomp box. They've excited audiences at events all over including Cambridge Folk Festival, Cecil Sharp House, Sidmouth, Towersey and the Aldeburgh Festival. Prepare to get your feet moving!
Sarah Petts is the band’s resident caller, and has a great selection of dances to share with us all. Sarah uses non-gendered calls.
Half-time entertainment comes from rumbustious The Vale Islanders from Charney Bassett, performing 17th century English dances in period dress.
Doors 7.30pm, dancing from 8 until 11pm.
There is a licensed bar with ale, cider, wine and soft drinks.
