The next Oxford Real Farming Conference (ORFC) will not be held in a physical location - but online and worldwide between 7 – 13 January 2021.
ORFC Global offers over 150 hours of talks, panel discussions, workshops and cultural events which will explore regenerative or agroecological farm practice, food sovereignty, climate justice and COP26, indigenous knowledge, biodiversity, animal welfare, land and the commons, racial inequity in our food system, gender and farming, knowledge sharing and communications.
In 2021, we are delighted to be working with international partners as well as our UK community. ORFC's Global partners include La Via Campesina, AFSA, Urgenci, IFOAM, IPES-Food, Greenhorns, AgroEcology Fund, Real Food Media and Farmerama.
The conference will run from midday to 10pm GMT each day. This will allow for delegates from many different time zones to join us, for at least part of the day, and for you to dip in and out of the conference as your interest and levels of online fatigue allow. There will be some interpretation services available for those who do not speak English.
There are several ticket prices. Only people outside the UK, Western Europe, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand can register for a FREE ticket. Speakers who are farmers should purchase the farmer ticket. Supporter tickets are also available for those who are able to pay a little extra and help provide bursary places and tickets free of charge to farmers in majority world countries.
Anyone who cannot afford to buy a ticket at the full price is welcome to apply for a bursary place here. To encourage more diversity amongst our delegates, ORFC also welcomes bursary applications from Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour, including Latine, Asian, and Multiracial people; LGBTQ+ people; and people with disabilities. Delegates outside Western Europe, Canada, the US, New Zealand and Australia do NOT have to pay for tickets, but registration is required to access the virtual conference.
In these challenging times, this ground-breaking gathering of the world's ‘real’ food and farming movements gives us a unique opportunity to come together, be inspired and feel part of a healthier and more promising future. We hope ORFC Global will create links and deepen solidarity across the planet for many years to come. Please join us!
