Oxfordshire Basketmakers' September Social

You are warmly invited to gather for an Oxfordshire Basketmakers' September Social,  on Saturday 26th September from 1.30pm – 4.45pm.

Firstly, we will meet at the Ashmolean Museum to look some ancient impressions of basketry and a few fragments, before making our way to the Oxford Friends Meeting House 43 St Giles, for a talk by classicist Amy Coker on Ancient Greek and Roman basketry (you may spot her article in the next BA newsletter).

After the talk there will be plenty of time to catch up and socialise over refreshments, hopefully in the garden if the weather is fine. Do feel free to bring more cake, and of course all your basketry news!

This is a free event, and you and your guests, are welcome at either, or both, of these locations. Please let us know that you are coming by using the booking link so that we have can plan accordingly. When you checkout you can also tell us which part of the event you are coming to. If you are not yet a member of OB and would like to join our basketry group, you can add annual membership at checkout.

2.30pm - The Meeting Room and Garden, Oxford Friends Meeting House, 43 St Giles, OX1 3LW with talk to begin at 2.45pm

3.15pm till 4.45pm - Refreshments and catchup

Notes: The walk between the Ashmoleum Museum and the Meeting House is approximately 4 minutes. The Meeting Room and the garden is fully wheelchair accessible (ground floor). Please email Charlotte via courses@oxfordshirebaskers.com if you need to reserve a parking space directly outside the Meeting House. Felicity Wood has also kindly offered the use of her driveway for up to 2 cars, which is a short walk or bus trip from the Ashmoleum and Meeting House - again please contact Charlotte to arrange this.
