The Declaration Ceremony of the High Sheriff of Oxfordshire marks the formal commencement of the shrieval year and the installation of the county’s new High Sheriff.
This year’s ceremony will see Muhammad Jawaid Malik JP formally declared as High Sheriff of Oxfordshire for 2026/7. The event will be held at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, reflecting both the civic importance of the office and Oxfordshire’s rich tradition of community, learning, and public service.
The Declaration brings together representatives of the judiciary, local government, faith communities, voluntary organisations, and civic life, and is followed by an opportunity to meet the new High Sheriff and mark the beginning of his year in office.
