Soundbath at St. Barnabas' Church
A gong bath is a concert like no other! Participants are invited to either sit or lie as they are bathed in the soothing sounds of gongs, chimes and other percussive instruments. Many people find that being immersed in these soundscapes helps to quieten the chatter of the mind so they can achieve deep states of rest and contemplation. Some find that the brain enters a creative state where they gain new perspectives or find solutions; others find a meditative peacefulness.
At the start of the session you will be offered a cacao drink (a bit like a sugar-free and dairy-free dark hot chocolate), to help you transition out of your busy daily life and into a space for rest and reflection. For those who avoid caffeine in the evenings, a rosehip tea will also be available (and of course you are very welcome to enjoy the event for the soundbath alone!)
Once participants have settled, I offer prompts for finding comfort in the body and inviting rest to the mind, then share one or two poems related to the season and time of year, before I begin moving through the space with my instruments. Many people choose to close their eyes or use an eye pillow to promote rest, however you are very welcome to keep them open (this is not choreographed performance, but some people find it more comfortable be able to see the instruments being played).
ADVANCE BOOKING ESSENTIAL! THERE WILL BE NO TICKETS ON THE DOOR!
Venue:
St. Barnabas church is an incredible venue just a stone's throw away from our usual location. The decorated walls and high ceilings make it an incredible, atmospheric setting: 'a place of history, prayer, inspiration and encounter', in the church's own words.
Doors open at 6:45pm for a 7pm start. Late arrivals cannot be admitted once the session has started.
What to bring:
- An exercise or camping mat to lie upon (please contact me if you need to borrow one)
- An eye pillow or scarf to cover the eyes if this will bring you extra comfort
- Blankets and warm layers as the body cools down quickly when lying in stillness
- A cushion or two for comfort
- Plenty of water to stay hydrated
Facilitator:
Anna trained with Sheila Whittaker, Don Conreaux, and Tone of Life (Abby Delsol and Tom Soltron), and has been sharing sound bath experiences forever a decade.

Supporter & Financial Assistance places.
The 'supporter' admission rate is for those who can afford to pay a little more, in order to help cover places for those not able to pay the full price.
Anyone who is experiencing financial hardship, and cannot afford the full price without foregoing daily essentials, is invited to get in touch with me regarding attendance at a rate they can afford (however little this may be). Because this is different for everyone, and because each event has a different capacity/ profit margin, I have stopped offering this as a drop down option for ticketing, and instead agree upon the rate on an individualised basis!
Cancellation policy
I am unable to offer refunds or exchanges, but I am happy for anyone who is unable to attend to pass their place on to someone else.
If I have to cancel the event or reschedule, all participants will be refunded or offered a place at a future workshop.
