River of Remembrance Paddle

This paddle is for bereaving parents only it's for a day to remember our children’s memory. I chose to make this a fall paddle to watch the leaves change and just embrace our children in this together, to find comfort with each other. And to have a day to remember our children.

After the paddle there will be doughnuts and apple cider and have a moment to socialize and be introduced with each other and to -While you’re waiting for a resource for bereaving parents.

Please after you purchase a shirt if you can please message me your name and your loved child's name so I can make sure they get added to the shirt. You have the option to purchase a yard sign with a picture of your child. It will be displayed along at the Juda park after Kayaking. Yard signs are purchased for $30.00 after the event will go home with you. you can bring it back for future events. If you would like to have one, please email me a picture of your child and their name the deadline to get this done would be 09/01/2026.

How the day will work,

We will all meet at Juda Park at 11:00am this is where you would park. Bus will shuttle us to the drop-in location which will be county F in broadhead. There we will get settled in Kayaks and off to our adventure with each other and see nature.

When we arrive to Clarence Bridge Boat Landing bus will shuttle us back to Juda Park to enjoy pictures of our children more conversation and doughnuts and cider and also will be a meal provided.

If you have your own Kayak to bring, please make sure it is dropped off at county F around 10:30am so you can go back to Juda Park to be shuttled at 11am (so your car can be there). After our trip it will need to be picked up at Clarence Bridge. To make it easier maybe have a friend do this for you.

If you do not have a person that can do that, no problem there is personal Kayak Shuttle available below. You will need to drop your boat at County F bridge in broadhead at 10:30am. Then head to Juda Park. After the event your Kayak can be shuttled back to Juda Park for $15.00 per boat.

We have kayaks to rent available (they handle the shuttling)

With all this being said, I just wanted to introduce myself and a little background on my story My name is Jillian I lost my son Gavin in June of 2024 he is forever 16 now. Going thru this as you all know you just feel lost, and in a room of support you still feel so alone. When this happened, I didn't know any parents in the area. I came across While were waiting online, there was an opening was in Oklahoma and I drove no hesitation. I feel like I was just desperate to find others in this world like me at that moment. It won't take away this pain. however, I didn't feel so alone at that time.

So, with this event I'll be honest I'm just a mom, and I'm just throwing an event together for us, to meet and have a place to meet in our community. There will probably be 50 different ways to make the event better in the future, but I have some great support to start out with now, so if you can please come, I would love to meet you, and we can do this all together. I'm going to just throw this out there and get my feet wet this year. Planning to make this a yearly thing in our community.
