Description
Folk band Juniper return to Little but LIVE!
See out Little but LIVE! as the sun goes down with some smashing tunes to banish those Sunday night blues.
Juniper takes the diverse backgrounds of their members and takes traditional and new folk tunes and add a modern, 'Birmingham' twist to them. They recently worked on a large collaboration over lockdown involving over 50 musicians playing one of our original tunes.
On fiddle, Sean Morrison, who grew up playing traditional Scottish tunes for ceilidhs and tune sessions, he now studies classical violin at RBC. On flute, Emily Hicks who has recently graduated in classical flute performance from RBC. On guitar, Harry Thorpe who grew up in Bury St Edmunds playing in folk clubs and traditional sessions whenever he could before setting up and running a youth folk ensemble of 19 people. On bass guitar, Rob Roberts who works as a professional composer, writing new music for film, theatre and concerts. And finally, on percussion, Aidan Hammond, a classical percussionist but brings a blend of contemporary rhythms from all across the globe through a range of instruments.
They are formed out of Joe Broughton’s Conservatoire Folk Ensemble, having played many festivals with them in the past, including Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Towersey Folk Festival, Kendal Calling, Shambala, Greenman Beverley Folk Festival, Gate To Southwell, New Forrest Folk Festival, and many others.

Juniper are playing as part of Little but LIVE! an open-air festival in Moseley Park from 17th - 19th September 2021. We have a wonderful programme of events across theatre, music, comedy as well as a range of workshops for all the family.
To find out more about our other events please visit out website at www.paperbacktheatre.com/little-but-live-programme-2021
We are proud to say that tickets for all events at Little but LIVE! are £5.00 to ensure the festival remains as accessible as possible. However, all the festival staff and artists are volunteering their time. If you feel able to, we would greatly appreciate if you would consider making a small extra donation at checkout that will be ringfenced and shared amongst all the artists and staff making sure Little but LIVE! happens. This last year and a half has been terrible for the UK's creative freelance workforce with theatres shut and festivals cancelled, and support at this time is integral to making sure the creative industries bounce back in the future.
