At the height of her career as a Christian pop singer and author, Julianna Glasse had built a life that looked, from the outside, complete: a high-profile marriage, a respected place in the evangelical community, a sense of certainty about who she was and what she believed. But the books she started reading opened doors she couldn't close, and the questions that followed eventually led her to leave both her marriage and her faith behind.

Julianna will share her story through the lens of women's liberation through literature, what it means to reclaim your life, pursue freedom on your own terms, and do the quiet, difficult work of becoming the author, and ultimately the hero, of your own story.

We're thrilled to host Julianna just days after the release of her memoir, This Is What Happens When Women Read, out October 13. Copies will be available for purchase at the event, and Julianna will be signing books after the talk.

Speaker Bio:

Julianna Glasse is the founder and CEO of This Is What Happens When Women Read, a global movement advancing women’s intellectual autonomy through education, scholarship, and community. An alumna of the University of Oxford and a member of the Saïd Business School Dean’s Circle, Glasse leads a growing global scholarship initiative in partnership with Oxford that provides women access to one of the world’s leading graduate business programs. She has spoken at global forums including the United Nations, the Skoll World Forum, and the Clinton Global Initiative on women’s leadership and the role of intellectual agency in social transformation. She currently resides in New York City.
