Meeting point : Jetty, Riverside, near Tanner Street, Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 2BQ (please note that the postcode does not take you to the meeting place – that is at the jetty, between the two car parks on the Riverside) TL 87002 82946 52.412540 , 0.74808110 ///suspended.herring.darts
Distance : 2 miles
Grade Leisurely - Up to 2 miles / 3km long. On well-maintained mostly level surfaces, suitable for people who don’t regularly walk and are less confident, suitable for families with young children or anyone looking for a short walk.

We will travel from the Riverside Jetty to First Staunch. A limited number of participants will be able to travel downstream by canoe as passengers (for a small charge which will support the work our partner Bush Adventures does in the community), while additional participants will walk along beside the river on the Haling Path. All will walk back together, passing the Priory and other sites of Thetford’s trading, industrial and social history, and will hear stories about swimming, fishing, boating and having fun in the rivers. We will invite participants to immerse in the sights and sounds of the river Little Ouse, as well as getting a sense of its importance in the history of the town.
