We will immerse ourselves in the sights and sounds of the river Little Ouse and get a sense of its importance in the history of the town. We will hear stories about swimming, fishing, boating and having fun in the rivers, see sites of Brandon’s trading, industrial and social history, and invite participants to stop and take in sensory and cultural resonance at some of the locations. This circular walk crosses the boundary between Norfolk and Suffolk – which has moved at different times in history. It begins with a look at the river from the narrowboat mooring, crosses above the weir at Brandon Staunch, follows the river and looks at historical buildings and sites, then returns via the beautiful Orchard gifted to the town and along the historic and lovely Victoria Avenue.

Grade :Leisurely - Up to 2 miles / 3km long. On well-maintained mostly level surfaces, suitable for people who don’t regularly walk and are less confident, suitable for families with young children or anyone looking for a short walk.
