Join pastry chef Steven Lodge for a 3–4 hour hands-on tart-making masterclass at Patisserie House, 17 Princess Dock Street, Hull!
- Lemon Meringue Tart – pipe and torch your own Italian meringue for a professional bakery finish
- Cherry Bakewell Tart – rustic frangipane with cherries, where the layers of frangipane are visible
- Chocolate Raspberry Tart – silky chocolate ganache with fresh raspberry, made by your own hands
During the class, you will learn essential hands-on pastry skills, including:
✅ Making sweet shortcrust pastry and lining tart tins
✅ Blind baking tart shells perfectly
✅ Filling tarts with frangipane, lemon curd, and chocolate ganache
✅ Piping Italian meringue and using a blowtorch safely
✅ Decorating tarts with professional finishing techniques
You will also watch chef demonstrations of advanced skills that are difficult to master at home, including:
- Making smooth, stable lemon curd
- Perfect frangipane and chocolate ganache
- Italian meringue techniques
- Pastry tips to prevent shrinkage and splitting
