Weekly group lessons for children from 4yrs onwards

Term dates?
Start Tuesday 14 April 2026 and finish Saturday 25 July 2026 (included).
No group lessons during half term w/c Monday 25 May (we run half term camps from Tuesday 26 - Friday 29 May 2026).
We deliver group lessons on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
14 Weeks of lessons 

Where?
Braywick Leisure Centre boasts new indoor mini/badminton courts and 6 new outdoor, floodlit tennis courts.
The younger children play indoor on the mini courts (for players up to around 8yrs old), whereas the older children play outdoor. The timetable shows more information about indoor/outdoor for each group.

Which group to book?
Children are divided into age groups however once the course has started the level of each child will be assessed and if necessary will be moved to a different ability group. Drop us a message if you're not sure which group to select for your child.

What to bring?
Children should bring a water bottle, their own racket, wear comfortable (layered) clothing and non-marking trainers when playing indoors. Please ensure items are labelled; all lost property will be donated to a local charity at the end of term. Please don't bring any food or snacks containing nuts to the lessons. Please let us know should your child not have their own racket yet as they are welcome to borrow one from us for the first lesson.

What happens when it rains?
Our outdoor lessons will continue in light rain on the all-weather courts. Should it be too wet, icy or windy for outdoor play the lead coach will cancel the lesson and you will be notified by text message and/or email. We try to give you as much notice as possible but usually a message goes out around 1 hour prior to the start of the lesson. We always keep an eye on the forecast because our beautiful British weather can change quickly! You will receive a full credit when we cancel a lesson.

Indoor lessons?
Our youngest players up to around 8yrs play indoor on the mini courts, but lessons may be moved outdoors if the sports hall is unavailable.

Invitational tennis?
We are very excited to introduce our invitational academy programme. Please don't book onto the online Invitational courses unless you received an email from us. Let us know of any questions about the programme or speak with Coach Jack Biddle or Ellis Delgado.

FAQ:
- For safety reasons parents are not allowed to stay in the hall during lessons (unless your child in unsettled or when you're called in by the coach).
- Sorry we're not setup to accept childcare vouchers
- We can organise a trial lesson at £10. We still need your child on the register so do contact us with their name, age and which group they would like to try.
- We have a small selection of demo-rackets, let us know if your child doesn't have their own racket yet and they can borrow one from us for the first lesson.
- The booking menu only shows 1 space, you can only book 1 child at one time.
- You can change your child to a different course day once the term has started, depending on availability.
- There's never a dull moment, we also offer private lessons and run holiday camps throughout the year.

We encourage our players to play more than once per week and offer 10% discount on a 2nd course booking for the same child. Please contact Martine to receive an online discount code. Please contact us to discuss any additional bookings.
