THE PHILHARMONIC FOLK: A St. Paddy's Session

Live from the Rockies invites you to an afternoon of Irish celebration, as two Calgary Philharmonic musicians and close friends step outside the concert hall to usher in St. Patrick's Day with a session of traditional folk music.

Danielle grew up fiddling in St. John's, Newfoundland, immersed from childhood in the rich tradition of Celtic music, and she brings that heritage to the stage alongside Peter, whose years fronting bands on guitar and vocals make him a natural partner for the tunes she's carried with her all her life.

What began as living room jam sessions between roommates has grown into a musical partnership rooted in friendship, tradition, and a shared love of music making. While their working lives are spent together on the stage of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, this performance offers a rare chance to hear them set aside their orchestral parts for fiddle tunes, folk songs, and session favorites.
