Recognizing Pittsburgh as a historically blue collar steelworkers town with a diverse population, this class will explore the ethos that lives in the company’s work and open up space to examine regional and cultural definitions of contemporary dance practices in the 21st century: what it does, who it’s for, what are its ethics, and how it can be more inclusive and accessible. The class will include both verbal and physical dialogue that circulates around this topic.
