The story:

For over 20 years, The Pearls have shared their unique blend of devotional music and song with audiences around the world, touching hearts through remembrance, creativity, and community. As pioneers in Muslim female artistry, devotional song, and drumming, The Pearls have forged a path that blends sacred tradition with creative expression, opening doors for others while remaining rooted in remembrance, beauty, and service. Along the way, their journey has inspired the founding of a drumming and nasheed school, as well as a range of community initiatives through The Rabbani Project. The release of their acclaimed debut album, Love Is My Foundation, brought their distinctive sound to an even wider audience, deepening their legacy

Join us as we mark this special milestone with gratitude, reflection, and heartfelt duʿa. Through intimate acoustic performances, newly released music tea and coffee we will honour the blessings of the journey.

Each city on this tour is a unique gathering of hearts, featuring special guests and local voices. We invite you to join us on the journey in this celebration of what has passed and what is to come.

Rakaya Fetuga - www.instagram.com/rakayaesime/

Rakaya Esime Fetuga is an award-winning poet, facilitator and events producer based in London.

Her work joins conversations on overlapping identities, faith and culture as self-affirmation. Rakaya has an MA in Creative Writing from Royal Holloway. Rakaya won the the Roundhouse Poetry Slam 2018 and the Spread the Word Young People’s Laureate for London Poetry Awards in 2017.

Rakaya has been commissioned by the UN, BBC and Bloomberg Philanthropies, as well as brands such as Microsoft, L’Occitane, Rimmel London, Instagram and Facebook. Rakaya also curated a 10-week arts engagement programme for Apple and the Mayor of London, managing 8 artist-facilitators as they worked with young women in the city.

Rakaya’s poems have featured in Letters for the Earth (HarperCollins, 2019), SLAM: You’re Gonna Wanna Hear This (Macmillan, 2020) and Articulations for Keeping the Light In (Flipped Eye, 2022).

‌At the Roundhouse Last Word Festival, Rakaya produced and performed her monodrama ‘Unbraided’ to sold out audiences in 2019 and 2021. Rakaya has performed across the UK and Europe from Newcastle to the Netherlands, and has shared her poetry at countless London venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Speaker’s House, Westminster Abbey and Southbank’s Royal Festival Hall.

An advocate for self-expression, Rakaya hosts Cave Open Mic at Rumi’s Cave, producing live events in her home city and as far as Cairo, Egypt. Rakaya also works with the Poetry Society to support young writers in schools to nurture their talent.

Can I buy tickets on the door?
Yes, a limited number of tickets may be available on the door, subject to availability. Door tickets are £25 per person.

Is this event suitable for children?
Children under 3 years old can attend free of charge. Children aged 3 years and above will require a ticket. We encourage those that would like to attend with children to attend the Rumi's Cave event in London on Saturday 11th July as that is open to all.

What is parking like at the event?
Limited Street Parking is available

What will the seating arrangement be like?
Seating will be a mixture of floor seating and chairs.

Are there prayer facilities?

Yes, there are prayer facilities available for Asr.

Can I get a refund if I am no longer able to attend the event?
Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable. However, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else if you are unable to attend.

Can I swap my ticket for another city or location?
Ticket transfers between cities are not possible. You will need to purchase a new ticket if you wish to attend another city.

Will there be food at the event?
Tea, coffee, and refreshments will be available to purchase. Anything purchased on the day supports the Roots 25 family! So we definitely advise buying some yummy fresh food.

How long will the event last?
The event is expected to last approximately 2–3 hours, including music, storytelling, reflections, and dhikr.

Do I need to print my ticket?
No. You can present your ticket on your phone.

This is a Ladies only event.
