SEAC Self-Paced Course - August 2026

Attention, SEAC Members and Advisors!

PEATC in partnership with the Virginia Department of Education is pleased to offer SEAC trainings aimed at helping SEAC members understand the role of the local Special Education Advisory Committee in Virginia and how to build a more efficient and effective advisory committee.

This course will include information on:

• SEAC in Virginia SPED Regulations
• SEAC Roles and Responsibilities
• Building Your Local SEAC
• Organization Tips for SEACs
• How to be an Effective Advisory Committee

The self-paced course begins August 3, 2026 and will be open through August 24, 2026. 

The training will take approximately 6 hours and can be accessed anytime during the 3-week timeframe. Participants who complete the training in its entirety receive a certificate of completion with 6 contact hours.

This training is also open to parents and professionals who are interested in learning about local SEACs in Virginia!
