“I don’t have imposter syndrome anymore, I have got a voice, and a meaningful voice. I am a business owner and I am making a difference to people’s lives.” Lesley Compston co-founded Renfrewshire-based social enterprise KLAS Care with the aim to make childcare work for parents. The inspiration for her company came when she was looking after her own children and noticed the difficulties many people had in finding affordable care. Since launching KLAS Care in 2010, Lesley had goals of expanding the business to support as many families as possible and now operates two sites with 16 members of staff who care for almost 400 children. On top of this remarkable growth journey, Lesley is passionate about sustainability, recently winning an award for KLAS Care’s journey to become a carbon emission-free wellbeing hub. Lesley is a registered childminder and has a degree in Childhood Practice. |
