Explore St. Non’s Bay: A Day of Discovery and Connection
As part of the 2025 Environmental Training Events series, this event offers a unique opportunity to explore the stunning coastline of St. Non’s Bay through a guided outdoor walk accompanied by a selection of expert speakers.
This open event is ideal for members of the public, outdoor activity providers, and anyone passionate about the natural and cultural heritage of the area.
Event Highlights:
- Morning Discovery Walk: Learn about the historical, cultural, and environmental significance of key locations, including St. Non’s Chapel and Porth Clais Harbour. Explore the rich legacy of historical and cultural value, as well as the fascinating biodiversity and geology present across the bay. Explore the rich diversity of one of North Pembrokeshire's most scenic stretches of coastline, and gain insight into how these elements intertwine to shape the bay’s identity today.
- Afternoon Venue Deep Dive: Participate in engaging discussions that share knowledge and best practices for outdoor activities in and around St. Non’s Bay. Topics include ideal routes, access points, and key landmarks, alongside the importance of responsible interaction with sensitive wildlife and habitats. This session encourages collaboration and fosters a sense of shared stewardship among participants.
Throughout the event, enjoy opportunities to pause, observe, and learn at key sites along the walk. These moments are designed to inspire connection not only with the natural world but also among community members, outdoor activity providers, and those dedicated to preserving the area’s unique character.

Speaker Spotlight:
Tomos Jones - Community Archaeologist , Pembrokeshire Coast National Park: Tomos works as the Community Archaeologist for the National Park Authority. He is responsible for safeguarding archaeological monuments within the Pembrokeshire Coast and also providing opportunities for communities, the public and other stakeholders to engage and learn more about archaeological heritage in the national park.
Sid Howells Geologist – Geological & Educational Services: Local geologist, Sid Howells, has spent over 40 years working in industry, conservation, research and education in Britain and overseas. As a former FSC peripatetic geology/geography fieldwork tutor and Regional Earth Scientist (Pembs, Carms, Gower & Neath-Port Talbot) for Countryside Council for Wales, Sid is an experienced speaker and bases his talks on an extensive collection of photos he has taken from land, sea and air.
Richard Vaughan - Ranger, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park:
Mark Underhill - Countryside Manager, National Trust: Mark Underhill has spent 40 years in land management for nature conservation. After swapping farming for an MSc in Ecology, he worked with WWT, CCW, and RSPB, managing nature reserves and creating wetlands. Now, as Countryside Manager for the National Trust in Pembrokeshire, he oversees 5,000ha of stunning coastline—his most rewarding role yet!

Archwiliwch Fae Santes Non: Diwrnod Darganfod a Chysylltu
Fel rhan o’r gyfres Diwrnodau Hyfforddiant Amgylcheddol 2025, mae’r digwyddiad hwn yn cynnig cyfle unigryw i archwilio arfordir godidog Bae Santes Non drwy daith gerdded awyr agored wedi’i thywys yng nghwmni detholiad o siaradwyr arbenigol.
Mae’r digwyddiad agored hwn yn ddelfrydol ar gyfer aelodau’r cyhoedd, darparwyr gweithgareddau awyr agored, ac unrhyw un sy’n angerddol am dreftadaeth naturiol a diwylliannol yr ardal.
Uchafbwyntiau'r Digwyddiad:
- Taith Gerdded Darganfod y Bore: Dysgwch am arwyddocâd hanesyddol, diwylliannol ac amgylcheddol lleoliadau allweddol, gan gynnwys Capel y Santes Non a Harbwr Porth Clais. Archwiliwch yr etifeddiaeth gyfoethog o werth hanesyddol a diwylliannol, yn ogystal â’r fioamrywiaeth a’r ddaeareg hynod ddiddorol sy’n bresennol ar draws y bae. Archwiliwch amrywiaeth gyfoethog un o ddarnau mwyaf golygfaol o arfordir Gogledd Sir Benfro, a chael cipolwg ar sut mae’r elfennau hyn yn cydblethu i lunio hunaniaeth y bae heddiw.
- Archwiliad Dwfn Lleoliad y Prynhawn: Cymerwch ran mewn trafodaethau difyr sy’n rhannu gwybodaeth ac arferion gorau ar gyfer gweithgareddau awyr agored ym Mae Santes Non a’r cyffiniau.
