Kanban is fast becoming the modern way to manage an organization’s delivery of customer value. In today’s always-on environment, you need a clear set of practices that don’t get in the way of your ability to continuously deliver but that provides enough structure to keep everyone aligned and focused. This two-day course will give you an in-depth introduction to improving your team’s effectiveness by applying Kanban flow principles.
In this class, you will learn the basic principles of flow and how to use them to make your team process more efficient, predictable, and effective. About Your Instructors
Darren Aitcheson is a Professional Kanban Trainer with ProKanban.org. He has 30 years' experience in the IT industry, including as a software engineer, team manager, Scrum Master, Agile Coach and Lead Delivery Manager across various companies, organisations and industries, including consultancies, insurance, online reviews and local government.
He first became passionate about Kanban when leading a deployment team that was under constant pressure from other areas of the organisation, but that had previously had no structured way of organising and tracking their workload. Having accidentally discovered Kanban, he immediately recognised the massive benefits that it could bring to the team. After a few months of operating and improving their Kanban system, the team became much more effective and predictable and the quality of their work greatly increased.
His particular passion is applying Kanban to areas outside of software and product development, since that can often have even more impact on an organisation than simply improving only the development teams' processes.
Matt DiBerardino is a former cartographer and software developer with experience helping to build products for over 25 years. He has helped teams become more self-managing and challenged the status quo within organizations for the last 8 years while serving as an Agile Leader in various industries. He was even voted “Most likely to take on aliens…and win” once.
He is currently serving as Ambassador for Serious Scrum and is a Licensed Guide on their “Road to Mastery” program, as well as co-creator of their “Kung-Fu Kanban” training. He is passionate about guiding agile professionals along their journey.
A husband and father of three very active kids, Matt currently resides in Pennsylvania, USA. He enjoys long walks in the woods and down by the water…as that is usually where his golf balls can be found. He is a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan, an avid Ted Lasso watcher, randomly quotes 80s movies, and enjoys collecting football kits (soccer jerseys).
