Rainforest Tree Planting Days

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th February 2025

People Plant Trees in partnership with Cumbria Woodlands, the National Trust, Environment Agency and the Woodland Trust are hosting a series of tree planting days in the valley to enable everyone to be a part of this exciting project. The day will involve:

The day will involve:

• Learn how to take and plant cuttings from existing trees
• Drive up the valley, walk down a steep slope and cross a river
• Hot lunch provided
• Planting the cuttings 'pegs'

Make sure you bring:

• Wellies
• Warm clothes
• Full waterproofs

Car parking is available at the Braithwaite Institute on the lake side of the A66. From there there we will car pool to the first location where we will cut the pegs, then jump back in the cars and drive up the valley.
