Nikita Gale’s first live performance considers the season as a matter of time and a symbol of destruction. As climate change makes once-reliable seasonal patterns erratic and arbitrary, Gale and the Harlem-based orchestral group The Unsung Collective re-interprets Vivaldi’s canonical work Four Seasons using choral, strings, wind, and percussion to create an experience that conjures the state of the weather in both its banality and its drama.
