Anna Maria Häkkinen: Afterglow, low lingering slips of light

This performance requires a free 10 min ferry transfer from the Governors Island Ferry at 3:45pm. The performance will begin at The Arts Center at Governor's Island at 4:30pm. 

Choreographer Anna Maria Häkkinen’s newest work takes minimalist dance as its point of departure, exploring star constellations above New York and Helsinki as blueprints for movement. Collaborating with a community of New York’s finest downtown dance artists, Häkkinen reinterprets Judson Dance Theater figure Lucinda Childs thus creating a bridge between the past and the present through an original score featuring a harpist and electronic dance music.
