Authorised Prescriber Training for Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT) Presented by The Psychedelic Consultancy

Join Peridot Medical Director Dr Joe Starke and Senior Clinical Psychologist and Co-CEO Monica Schweickle for an intensive one-day online training for psychiatrists interested in becoming Authorised Prescribers for legal psychedelic-assisted therapy in Australia.

Having delivered and refined our AP training over the past twelve months, we are pleased to offer two new dates in June.

What's covered:

Contextual Knowledge: PAT history and neurobiology, MDMA for PTSD, psilocybin for depression, medication interactions, evidence base, regulatory standards, and outcome documentation.

AP Roles & Responsibilities: Patient assessment, selection and consent, medication tapering and treatment selection, safety monitoring, dual-diagnosis prescribing, dosing plans, therapy dyad collaboration, and funding and patient access.

Safety & Ethics: Screening, indications and contraindications, consent and confidentiality (including therapeutic touch and video recording), pre-treatment workup, medication management, side effect and emergency management, and complex presentations.

About Us

Dr Joe Starke is an experienced psychiatrist and TGA-approved supervisor of Authorised Prescribers, having supervised approximately a quarter of Australia's APs since treatments commenced in 2023. Joe has practical expertise in supervising and training Authorised Prescribers and therapists, with clinical experience delivering MDMA and psilocybin in outpatient settings, and 5-MeO-DMT and psilocin within clinical trials. He is renowned for his insightful and compassionate approach to psychedelic-assisted therapy.

Monica Schweickle is a trauma therapist and clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience. A Psychology Board Approved Supervisor and EMDR Consultant, Monica led the development of Australia's first clinical psychedelic-assisted therapy clinic before co-founding The Psychedelic Consultancy. She has completed 40+ psilocybin and MDMA-assisted therapy sessions under the AP scheme, assisted over half of Australia's prescribers with their clinical protocols, governance and implementation, and supervises and trains mental health professionals in PAT, EMDR and psychotherapy.
