Christmas Friendly

A talk on Spiritual Intelligence, At Least Four Wise Women, an open microphone, a Crowd-Sourced Carol, three drinks, and a buffet. What’s not to like?

We call it a Christmas Friendly, inspired by our friends at The Alternative Global who use to the term ‘friendly’ to describe an event and party hybrid with a convivial inquiring spirit and a chance to build relationship. and there’s an oblique nod to football too for those seeking entertainment on a par with the best of the World Cup.

The friendly will take place at the beautiful St. Ethelburgas, an oasis in the heart of the City of London with a light touch structure as follows:

6-7 PM:
Arrive, settle, socialise and help yourself to the drinks and buffet, a tasty mix of mezze, samosas and sandwiches by Shambu’s catering.

7-7.20 PM:
Philosopher, Psychotherapist and Perspectiva Associate Mark Vernon will provide ‘the intellectual serve’ for the evening, speaking on what it means to be ‘spiritually intelligent’ at Christmas, based on his recently released book Seven Steps to Spiritual Intelligence.

7.20 PM:
An open microphone reflection on Christmas. We’ll kick off with four wise women -Artist Vanessa Chamberlain, Political Theorist Sarah Stein Lubrano, Cosmolocal Sangha Convenor Maria Dorthea and Legal scholar Siva Thambisetty - who will then speak to the broad question of what, if anything, Christmas means to them. After that, the stage is yours to share a thought, a song a poem a provocation… bring your gift!

8.15PM ish
Crowd-sourced Christmas Carol with SeanMcCann of the Showstoppers and the School of Night using a call and respond method based on the evening's prior contributions.

9 - 10.30 PM 
The Party goes On.
