Peterhouse Organ Recital - 20 January - Andrew Reid
We are delighted to be holding a series of recitals throughout Lent Term to showcase our newly restored organ. This event is the first in the series, with Andrew Reid as our guest organist.
Andrew Reid has served as Assistant Master of Music at Westminster Cathedral, Sub Organist of Westminster Abbey, Director of Music at Peterborough Cathedral, Director of the Royal School of Church Music, and Managing Director of Harrison & Harrison Organ Builders. During his time in London he played the organ for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and the premiere recording of James MacMillan’s Westminster Mass, and while studying at Cambridge with David Sanger and Peter Hurford, performed the complete organ works of JS Bach in one 25-hour recital. Returning to Cambridge last year, he became Director of Music at Little St Mary’s Church, alongside teaching and other musical work.
The recital will take place in the Peterhouse Chapel and will commence at 6.00 p.m., lasting around an hour. Tickets are free and the recitals are open to the public on a first come, first served basis but you must have a ticket to enter. We ask that attendees enter the College via the Porter's Lodge where you will need to show your ticket, and please be seated by 5.50 p.m.
