2025 PHCC Super Foremen Workshop
It’s Game Day– Are Your Foremen QB Ready?
It’s game day, your opponent is already on the field, and you call into the locker room for your foreman quarterback to take the field. Are they ready? Do they understand their role? Do they have the same game plan as you? Do they understand what it will take to win in this game? Are they confident and knowledgeable enough of the game plan to know when to stick with the plan, and when call to audible?
The project foreman needs to be much more than just a talented journeyman who knows how to “go fast.” The foreman is the first line of management in the company, and must become the quarterback by learning more than just the technical trade skills required to install the work.
Like a quarterback, they must have a carefully crafted and practiced game plan (or else it’s sandlot football), they must be able to execute the plan, they must be able to adjust the plan when teammates stumble or show less talent, they must provide accurate feedback to the coaches on the bench, and they must AT ALL TIMES keep their eyes on the goal of winning the game.
That’s what this program is about … Winning the Construction Project Game!
Your Instructor:
Purdue Professor Emeritus Kirk Alter, give managers the tools they need to use on every project to keep the field workforce supplied with the equipment, materials and information they need to keep productivity and profits at maximum. Attendees learn the rules of the construction game – and how to play to win it!

The Creating Super Foremen Workshop is a two-day, intense session where we teach attendees how to fulfill their #1 job duty : Be the first line of management and get your projects built efficiently, profitably and professionally.
It is perfect for new foremen who want to get a head-start on how to handle their job the right way from the start and for teaching established foremen better ways to do what they do every day. Our goal is to teach attendees 100 different things they can do to improve how they manage their crews and their projects—then have them commit to actually doing the top 3-5 things that will have the greatest impact when they return to their company.
In short, our class isn’t about feel-good theory; it’s about providing attendees with the management tools they need to manage their crews with fewer headaches, better productivity and much improved profits.
Throughout the class, our lead instructor Kirk Alter will call out the attendees on the little things they do every single day that don’t seem like a big deal at the time, but collectively end up costing your company tens of thousands of dollars each year.
You can get a feel for the lessons covered in this class with these clips from a previous sessions:
- Make a better plan for your materials laydown area and work with the General Contractor before work begins to provide an easy boost to labor productivity.

- Managing late arrivals, long breaks and other behaviors on the jobsite wastes time and hurts productivity. So, what if there was an easy system that would allow crews and foremen to manage themselves?

“In short, a great class. For new and upcoming foremen, it gives guidelines for expectations and the structure to achieve them. For older foremen who have been in the game, gives you great info to improve everything you are doing.”
