Expressive Watercolour, Workshop Two - Misty Dovestone

Hosted by Mossley based Artist, Phil Craven, where we focus on capturing the emotion, atmosphere and energy of the scene rather than precise, photographic detail.

Each workshop can be followed as a progression, or a stand alone tutorial and will explore various expressive watercolour techniques:

• Wet-on-Wet • Dry Brush • Lifting-Off Paint
• Emotional Painting

We will also cover paper selection, brushes, composition, paint and colour mixing.

For workshop two, we will start with some basic technique exercises which can then be utilised in a landscape painting using an image of a misty Dovestone reservoir and surrounding hills in Greenfield, Oldham. Ideal for encompassing many of the aforementioned techniques.
