Expressive Watercolour, Workshop Three - Creating magical skies

Hosted by Mossley based Artist, Phil Craven, where we focus on capturing the emotion, atmosphere and energy of the scene rather than precise, photographic detail.

Each workshop can be followed as a progression, or a stand alone tutorial and will explore various expressive watercolour techniques:

• Wet-on-Wet • Dry Brush • Lifting-Off Paint
• Emotional Painting

We will also cover paper selection, brushes, composition, paint and colour mixing.

For workshop three, we will be looking at creating some magical skies. Various watercolour techniques are ideal for this, partly due to their unpredictability, and you go with this to a certain extent, but with practice you begin to harness this unpredictability to your advantage!
