Join us for the second instalment of Post-Photography: Artists in Conversation, a series of online panel discussions accompanying the exhibition tour Afterimage: Photography in the Digital Age. This online panel discussion brings together exhibiting artists Ailbhe Ní Bhriain and Alan Phelan in dialogue with curator Darren Campion and the team from The Dock Arts Centre.

Each session of this discussion series explores how contemporary practices are reshaping what photography is and can be in an increasingly networked, image-saturated world. From archival interventions to digital montage and expanded image-making, these conversations reflect on the diverse ways images are now produced, circulated, and understood. Through discussion of the artists’ work, the series considers how meaning, context, and authorship are shifting, and explores what these changes reveal about photography today.

For free. For everyone.

Afterimage: Photography in the Digital Age brings together a selection of cutting-edge work by Irish and international artists exploring the material and conceptual transformations that have profoundly altered our sense of what a photograph is and can be. The exhibition continues at The Dock Arts Centre, Carrick-on-Shannon, until 14 November 2026.

Afterimage: Photography in the Digital Age is a Photo Museum Ireland National Tour, presented in partnership with The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon, and Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre, Skibbereen, supported by an Arts Council Touring Award. With thanks to Green on Red Gallery, Molesworth Gallery, and Kerlin Gallery for facilitating loans to the exhibition.
