PhysFestNYC Presents: Chicken Big: Gets Physical

Chicken Big: Gets Physical is more than a piece of theater -- it is another rich chapter in Chicken Big’s meteoric rise to wealth, status, and fame. A get-rich-quick schemes masquerading as a comedy show, Chicken Big: Gets Physical will feature the debut of Chicken Big’s groundbreaking new line of human-integrated devices, such as the Human Piñata™, the Human Blender™, and more. An evening of participatory, mostly-improvised comedy, Chicken Big: Gets Physical is part clown, part improv, and a whole lot of chaos. Come through!

Lars Montanaro (he/him) is a Brooklyn-based actor from the California mountains. he is the co-producer and artistic director of The Poetry Brothel NYC, an immersive poet-theatrical experience, and a founding member of Chicken Big, an improv team and experimental comedy troupe. lars has performed and developed projects with En Garde Arts, La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, WaxFactory, The Center at West Park, The Brick and more. he is trained in Meisner from the Terry Knickerbocker Studio and is currently pursuing an MFA in Contemporary Theater & Performance at The New School.

Ibhan Kulkarni (he/him) is a standup comic, writer, improviser, American, Christian, and liar based out of Brooklyn, NY. He performs all over New York and beyond, both individually and as a member of the comedy trio, Chicken Big. Most recently, Ibhan has been featured in the Fun & Dumb Improv Festival and New York Comedy Festival. He was named a New Face of Comedy at Just For Laughs 2023.

Tej Khanna (he/him) is a Brooklyn based comedian. He is a founding member of Chicken Big, a comedy group that performs improv and develops participatory comedy experiences. He is also a member of the NYC sketch group LISA. He is a standup comedian who has been featured in the New York Comedy Festival. He can be seen writing and performing in the immersive sci-non-fi omniuniversal totality of Car World. He is also the charismatic host of Pump Up The Jam, a well loved weekly community improv space. Chicken Big is a Brooklyn-based comedy trio comprised of Tej Khanna, Ibhan Kulkarni, and Lars Montanaro. They are a house team at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective, and have been featured performers & teachers at Asylum NYC, The PIT, iO Chicago, The Annoyance, Logan Square Improv, New York University, and Oberlin College. They have also been featured in New York Comedy Fest and headlined the Fun and Dumb Improv Festival ('22 & '23) and the Union Improv Festival ('22). See them at the Brooklyn Comedy Collective the first Friday of every month @ 7pm and Tuesday Night Home Teams @ 7pm!
