Technique Within Your Groove Method with Tatiana Desardouin (House) 

The classes will include introduction to house dance culture, drills, foundations, and incorporate some variations and freestyle exercises using those foundations as a basis. They will learn how to connect movements with music, tools for creativity and individuality. They will also learn through Tatiana’s teaching method called "Technique Within Your Groove". This method allows for more freedom in one’s musicality, freestyle and to incorporate technical tools without losing the groove. This method also pushes the dancers to develop their coordination, rhythm and polyrhythm

Haitian descent, born in Switzerland, Tatiana is a dancer, curator, organizer, the director and choreographer of Passion Fruit Dance Company, a street dance theater and educational company (est. 2016) (Guggenheim, MASS MoCA, LOHH, Summerstage, BRIC, ADF etc.). Teaching and mentoring since 2005, she developed her own teaching method, Technique Within Your Groove. She is adjunct professor at Springfield College and a faculty member of 92NY. Features & awards: The Bessie Juried Award 2022 The Vilcek Foundation Prizes for Creative Promise in Dance (2022). Dance Magazine's 2020 “25 to Watch”

Passion Fruit is a street/club dance and educational company, founded in 2016 by Tatiana Desardouin, (Choreographer/Art.director). Through educational programs and dance works, the mission is to: promote street/clubbing dance styles and cultures; highlight its black heritage ; explore and address social issues; inspire young artists to share their voices. They performed in USA “Dance Within Your Dance” and “Trapped” in theaters such as BAAD!Theater, Summerstage, Jacob's Pillow, the New Victory, LOHH festival, 92NY, MASS MoCA, Dance Place, the Guggenheim, BRIC!,ADF and abroad.
