The Lucid Body is a psycho-physical process that offers the fundamental building blocks of a new language, a new insight into character diagnosis and embodiment.The seven chakra energy centers will be introduced as tools to differentiate human behavior based on intent. While the root will protect you, the heart will express compassion and joy. Inspired by the ancient knowledge of the Eastern yogic traditions, the LB process specifies the weight and resonance of each center as it affects our humanity. Exploring, uncovering, digging deeper, flying higher, you will move into new places of self.

Fay Van Alstyne Simpson Is the Founder of the Lucid Body. Informed by her 20-year career in dance and theater, Fay created The Lucid Body, a psycho-physical process of introspection, exertion, and mental challenge that empowers actors and dancers to express their fullest potential. She conducts workshops at her Manhattan studio, Lucid Body House, and coaches actors on TV, stage and screen. She has a Teacher Training Institute.The 2nd edition of her book The Lucid Body; A Guide for the Physical Actor (Allworth, 2008) was released in August 2020.
Fay is Head of Movement and an Associate Arts Professor in the Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts, NYU.

Shayna Freedman (She/Her) is an actor and movement coach specializing in embodying text and language. She has performed with Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, Classic Theatre of Maryland, Avant Bard Theatre, and others. As a coach, Shayna has collaborated with Netflix, Amazon, and Claro Video, and led workshops at New York University, Sarah Lawrence College, Marymount Manhattan College, Synetic Theater, and more. Shayna is founding faculty at Casa Spanda (Mexico City) and senior instructor at Lucid Body House (NYC), where she is Director of the Lucid Body Teacher Training program.
