The "Moving for Better Balance" Exercise Programme is a FREE, 8 week programme designed to promote physical activity (Strength & Balance) for adults with chronic conditions and older adults. The programme focuses on multimodal exercise (strength, balance, flexibility, and aerobic) and aims to overcome barriers to physical activity participation. 

Key Features:

  • Target Audience: Adults with chronic conditions and older adults living in Longford.
  • Multimodal Exercise: Includes aerobic, strength, balance, and flexibility exercises.
  • Cost-Free: The programme is free to participants.
  • Support: Provides access to a dedicated team for support and guidance throughout the programme.
  • Longford Location: The programme is specifically being implemented in Longford.

Program Structure:

  • 8-week duration: Delivered over a 8-week period.
  • Exercise Classes: 60-minute exercise classes per week  in each location (Longford Library, EDI, Granard, Edgeworthstown, Ballymahon and Lanesborough).

Exercise Class Days and Times 

Monday - EDI at 4pm and Longford Library at 6pm 

Wednesday - Edgeworthstown at 11am and Granard at 12:30

Friday - Ballymahon at 11am and Lanesborough at 12:30
