Pint of View London

Lectures in London pubs

Events list

Pint of View London is the London chapter of Pint of View Club - a lectures-in-a-pub series that runs in 14 cities across Europe, UK and India. We bring robust research out of institutions and into the public sphere in accessible and casual settings like pubs and wine bars. Professors, academics and experts share sharp, accessible talks, followed by open Q&A and conversation. Then we stay. To debate, to connect, to meet people like you, and to build a community that travels across the world.

A pint. A point of view. And curious minds.

FAQs

What exactly is Pint of View?
Pint of View is an international lecture series that brings big, bold ideas into local pubs. It runs in 14 cities across Europe, UK and India. It brings together an international community of curious people to hear from professors, researchers, writers, and experts. Each event is a short talk followed by questions, conversation, over a drink of choice.

Do I have to drink alcohol?
Not at all. The pint is optional, the view is mandatory. Order a beer, a lemonade, a sparkling water, whatever you like.

What kind of talks happen here?
Anything that makes you think “wait… I didn’t know that.”
Topics can range from science and technology to culture, society, or strange systems that shape our world.

What is the community like?
International, curious, and slightly nerdy in the best way.

Can I come alone?
Please do. A lot of people do.
Pint of View is designed so you can walk in solo and leave having had a few great conversations.

Will I actually meet people? London can be… quiet.
Yes! and that’s partly why Pint of View exists. London is full of interesting people, but somehow it can still feel a bit hard to meet them.
Pint of View is a small pocket where curious strangers gather to learn something new together which tends to make conversations much easier.

How long are the events?
Usually about 90 minutes.
A short talk, a lively Q&A, and then people often stay back to continue the discussion.

Is this very academic?
No jargon marathons here.
The speakers are brilliant, but the goal is to make ideas accessible, engaging, and sometimes a little mind-bending.

Can I cancel my ticket?
Yes, you can because life happens. Please write to us at least 4 days in advance and we will send over a voucher that you can redeem at a later talk.
