"A Brief History of Life on Our Planet"
with Aidan Pierce

The history of life on our planet is the story of us. From every person to each plankton, all life has endured 4.5 billion years of adaptation and change to make the world we know today. For many of us this leads to the question how did we get here? And where did we come from? The answers for these questions require us to explore the origins of the earth, the relationship between biology and geology, and how life can almost vanish from existence only to come back stronger than ever.

This talk will cover the origins of life, the first animals, the first steps on land, the death of the dinosaurs, the rise of the mammals, and everything in between. In doing so we will also explore the weird history of our planet, from when the earth was covered in ice from pole to pole, to desert supercontinents, arctic jungles, and rain that lasts millions of years. All of which combine to produce the wonderful history of life on our planet.
