""The Three Ps of Finding Community in London"
With Ramit Metha

Summary
What if we lived in a London where everyone felt like they belonged?

As of 2025, 34% of all Brits often felt lonely. 28% of Gen Z didn't feel connected to a community.

Additionally, London has lost nearly 10 local-authority-run community spaces every year between 2018 and 2023, and a quarter of its pubs have closed down since the turn of the century.

Only 16% of Londoners think a night out is affordable, and in real terms, the cost of that night out is almost 50% higher than it was 30 years ago.

In this talk, Ramit Mehta explores the individual impact of these trends and how both the short and long-term solutions are actually present in the room with us.

Through what we know about the current state of social infrastructure, his master's research (soon to be a published paper) and his startup Commfy (Community For You) which is creating a marketplace for IRL communities, he hopes that everyone leaves the night with the knowledge on how to find community more easily (and maybe even leave the night with a friend)!
