"Angela Carter's Bristol: Art, Music, Food... and the Dangers of AI" with Marie Mulvey-Roberts
Summary
Come and see Bristol through the eyes of one of the greatest writers of the late twentieth century who lived in Clifton for most of the 1960s and was part of the counter-culture scene. This barstool tour of the city will be a multi-sensory experience showing how Bristol influenced her novels, her involvement with setting up folk clubs in the city and how she inspired a major art exhibition and musicals and why she is in the Gothic Cookbook. Finally, Carter’s predictions about the dangers of technology in the hands of dictators will be related to current fears about the dangers of AI.
Copies of Marie’s book Literary Bristol: Writers and the City will be on sale.
