Along the way, I’ll ask what philosophers can learn from the life of a concept: What do we want our terms to do for us? How much control do we have over the meaning of our words? And what happens when our concepts take on new lives?

Bio

Isobel is a PhD Researcher in Philosophy at the Centre for Love, Sex and Relationships, Leeds. She works at the intersection of feminist philosophy of intimate abuse and the socio-political construction of knowledge. Isobel is a member of the Feminist Research Into Violence and Abuse Network and a volunteer researcher for Talk, Listen, Change Manchester.

What if I don't drink alcohol?

No problem at all! Pints of Knowledge is all about the ideas and the community, not the drinks. You’re welcome to enjoy a soft drink, coffee, or whatever you prefer. The focus is on creating a relaxed, social atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable

Can I attend without a ticket?

Tickets must be purchased online prior to the event. With our limited capacity at each venue we can't let people in without a ticket.

Is there food available?

Can I get my ticket refunded?
